Was raising the seabed by up to 2 metres worth the cost in marine life and human lives?

The earthquake's geological impact raised the seabed, extending shorelines but devastating coral reefs and marine ecosystems. While some see it as a natural phenomenon, others blame it for the loss of marine life and human casualties.

Bro, it’s nuts to ask if an earthquake “is worth it.” We’re talking about tectonic plate movements, not something that can be quantified into some cost-benefit analysis. Sure, the loss of the reefs and of life itself is devastating, but the earth doesn’t care about our calculations.
